JOB SUMMARY The role of the Sr. Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines, delivery business benefits and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and thirdparty contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Sr. Project Manager will also define the projects objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategy & Planning Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with the PMO, senior management and stakeholders. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders. Oversee the planning and development of project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Track project milestones and deliverables. Review status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas. Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle. Conduct project Lessons Learned to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. Develop, assess, and improve best practices and tools for project execution, management, and delivery. Acquisition & Deployment Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Review budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary. Review and provide input on all contracts with external vendor partners Participate in the acquisition, selection, and onboarding of new project team members Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company. Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle. Operational Management Primary point of escalation for questions and issues from the Project Management team; address and/or escalate issues as they come up Develop and mentor others within the team Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members Oversee project development from beginning to end. Review project plans and associated communications documents. Review all project deliverables to ensure they adhere to Northgates standards. Proactively identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team, third party vendor partners, and the business as needed Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans Ensure that project risks are identified and that a mitigation plan is developed Ensure that project issues are identified, documented, and addressed in a timely manner Ensure that overall project budgets are monitored and that potential overages are identified early on so that the appropriate action can be taken. Review weekly status reports for accuracy and completeness Coach, mentor and motivate, team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
