Oracle Specialist (Level III Production Support)

DESCRIPTIONThis position will primarily be responsible for supporting the think or swim production environment from a technology leadership role.The Engineer Consultant position will provide expert level engineering, strategic and support direction for a set of Oracle 11G+ database clusters running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux The Engineer Consultant will also design and implement changes to the environment that increases sustainability, resiliency, efficiency, and availability. This associate is expected to contribute to projects as the tech lead and offer solutions to engineering conflicts. Responsibilities also include supporting the production environment, responding to event escalations, and assisting in service restoration.Set strategic direction for systems and support of these technologiesProvide 24/7 oncall leadership supportDocument system diagrams operational readiness proceduresDesign and implement technology solutions to complex production liabilitiesDesign production processes that are in line with business needsProvide design direction for other Engineers in T2Analyze statistics and Incidents to develop and execute availability improvement plansDesign, integrate, and deploy vendor solutions to the production environmentsDesign and Implement process improvements that drive towards improved availability, resiliency, and efficiencyProvide coaching and training for Engineer I, II and Sr levels within Support group.Provide 24/7 oncall leadership supportAssist Production Support Engineers in escalated production incidents with emphasis on databasesTroubleshoot, research, and resolve major defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in database functions, outputs, and contentProvide detailed report and analysis on root cause and action items required to prevent repeat problemsQuick response to system monitors, alerts, escalations and all outagesFocus on driving packaged automation scripts to support and reducing manual workAbility to be allocated to multiple Enterprise Projects requiring internal and external technology resourcesProvide technology leadership on multiple Enterprise ProjectsDeliver a consistent solutions across the enterpriseCommunicate to Management about service disruption impacts and root cause analysisProvide outage and service restoration details to Operations Command Center for degradation statistics and root cause analysisEnsure excellent service to all Production Support clients and business partnersCommunicate process and operational changes to department staff.Communicate effectively to executive managementCommunicate effectively with other database engineering and support organizations within customer.RequirementsBS Degree PreferredExpert Oracle 11g/12c RAC/GI experienceExperience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 or aboveStrong database tuning and performance analysis experienceAbility to work well under pressure in production support situationsSolid written and verbal communication skillsStrong learning agility, curiosity and problem solving skillsSolid written and verbal communication skillsAbility to act independently with limited supervision within scope of responsibility.Ability to cross train and provide direction for other associatesAbility to practice Continuous Process ImprovementAgility when dealing with multiple projects and production issuesExpert knowledge of multiple technologies and environmentsAbility to provide expert recommendations on production solutions
