Description
Responsibilities Essential Duties Provide configuration and functional support for the Production Planning (PP) and Production Planning Process Industries (PPPI) modules of SAP. This includes but is not limited to functionality and configuration in the areas of Production/ Process order processing and execution, ATP, MRP, MPS, Material Movements related to order processing, Kanban, Long Term Planning, Scheduling, Capacity planning, Master Data to support the processes, Interfaces to external systems, output determination and printing.Act as a liaison or internal consultant between the business and local IT to gather requirements and implement solutions for process improvements and new functionality.Partner with personnel of organizational business units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports and screens.Write detailed description of user needs and requirements, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.Review computer system capabilities, process workflow and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.Analyze, design, plan, code, test, document, and implement business applications required to develop or maintain systems. Prepare process workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail, operations to be performed by computer systems.Follow company validation procedures as outlined by the QA/QC Departments for changing and implementing systems. Prepare Validation protocol reports to adhere to FDA and GMP procedures and requirements. Ensure that team members and consultant also follow same procedures.Prepare project status reports to inform management of project progression. Identify any issues which need to be evaluated to management for resolution or assistance.Provide support for production systems users by phone or on site on a seven day a week, 24 hour a day basis.Train users on use of systems and new functionality.Manage upgrades and application of hot packs/support packages.Lead new technology evaluation related to operating systems, hardware, software packages, development tools and methodologies. Identify alternative or new technologies and implement them as Information Services standards.Expertise Knowledge & SkillsGeneral business knowledge of Manufacturing, discrete or process industry functions that include Scheduling , Material Requirements planning, Capacity planning, Detailed scheduling, Shop floor order execution and master data to support the processes.Knowledge of system architecture, Relational Database Design, SQL, MS Office, database connectivity; project management standards, methods and techniques.Use of standard operating systems, network environments and application software; prioritize, organize and complete tasks in accordance with established standards and deadlines.Able to communicate effectively with staff, management, other departmental representatives; contractors, consultants, vendors and external customers; assign tasks, explain work methods, demonstrate equipment usage and check work for completeness, timeliness and accuracy.Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; maintain the confidentiality of proprietary, financial and personnel data.
