Desktop Engineer

Description

Essential Functions Work independently and in collaboration with internal teams and service providers to conduct daytoday maintenance, administration of software platform(s) and configuration updates following established procedures.Engineer packages and deployments of operating system image and end user device software.Act as resource on projects including new software implementations, Windows and office upgrades, and other projects involving updates to software on endpoints.Strategically and proactively implements system and process improvements that increase overall productivity for end users.Provides reporting and key performance metrics as needed.Follows applicable change management and quality control processes.Develop, test, and manage the standard desktop image(s) for all hardware platforms. Ensuring functionality and compatibility with all their applications.Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing support of ITAM automated systems management tools for RWJBH Corporate and Affiliate entities. This includes, but is not limited to discovery and inventory; software management and distribution; hardware lifecycle and configuration; and, OS migration and provisioning. Proactively monitor Field Service system and related infrastructure technology assets to provide stable, dependable technology asset services and provide ongoing trend analysisProvide input into developing, building and implementing processes that allow for better tracking, support and management of IT assets. Ensure these processes are documented, published and available to all as needed.Create methodologies with available tools to comply with IT security standards which include, patch compliance, antivirus compliance, and encryption standards.Oncall and after hours support; willingness and ability to work flexible or irregular hours in accordance with departmental needs and workload demands.Ability to travel up 10% of timeJob Requirements Bachelors degree in technology or related business field preferredLANDesk administration experience strongly preferred5 7+ years experience in IT field3 5 years experience endpoint solution system administration
