Description

The Sr. QA Engineer translates business requirements into effective test cases, test planning, test automation and test execution. Possesses solid working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within quality assurance. Documents and tracks software defects identified through testing and generally work with developers & support engineers to resolve outstanding issues.ResponsibilitiesDefines standards for development of manual & automated test scripts, deployment and reuse.Contributes to the automation effortParticipates in formal reviews of business requirements and application designs.Ensures proper test coverage exists based on requirements and design specifications.Recommends strategies and methods to improve test plans and process.Create and executes manual and automated test scripts for most complex projects in a most efficient and modular fashion.Create common routines and libraries for automation to be shared between teamsCoordinates test schedules, work and resource plans; manages progress of all test activities against plan.Establishes testing entrance and exit criteria.Identifies and manages critical path of testingEnsures execution of project regression testing tasks.SME (Subject Matter Expert on 3 to 4 areas, including web and core)Skills/Experience A minimum of 7 years of indepth QA Engineering experienceBachelors degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experienceAnalyzes and reports overall test status and results.Analyzes and reports overall test status and results.Identifies test issues on multiple or complex projectsDefines, manages and execute regression tests for projects.Coordinates production verification and validation.Perform risk analysis at project management or release level.Advanced product knowledge/SMEAdvanced software testing background through extended quality assurance experience.Full project life cycle experience.Extensive application/technology knowledge and recognized expertise in several areas.Demonstrated expertise in all technologies relevant to responsibilities, including communications, environments, operating systems and databases.Solid understanding of agile software process including analysis, design, coding, system integration, and user acceptance testing, problem resolution and planning.Demonstrated expertise in all technologies relevant to responsibilities, including communications, environments, operating systems and databases.Ability to lead manual and/or small automated test projects using available test frameworks and tools.Proficient with one or more object oriented programming language (i.e. C# or Java)Capable of contributing to libraries with little to no supervision as well as providing supervision for more junior engineersKnowledge of Windows server technologies, and database (MySQL and MS SQL)May provide guidance and training to enable other team members to meet/exceed expectations.May have input into hiring decisions.Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.Works on multiple projects concurrently.Establishes ontime and on budget project goals.Plans and coordinates project schedules and may make project assignments.Maintains status of project and monitors activities of team members.Works directly with the product management and business owners for test project definition.Participates in user/external group discussions.
