Linux Engineer

Description

This position provides infrastructure engineering design and development for all of TransUnion Interactives Linuxbased revenuegenerating systems and services. You will participate within our cloud strategy, new technologies being investigated, and you will have a direct impact on future enhancements impacting the environment. You will assure the high availability of applications/systems by collaborating with various teams within TransUnion. You will maintain, enhance and implement new monitoring tools to identify faults for the operations teams to ensure timely resolution to avert any stability issues.How Youll Contribute Provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, balancing technical viability with business requirements and constraints.Design, plan and implement server and cloud solutionsDesign high availability solutions using technologies such as load balancing, replication and activeactive sitesDraft and maintain design/architecture documentation for all projectsGuides the successful completion of major initiatives that impact crossfunctional teams within their department.Partner and communicate effectively with senior leadership and crossfunctional peers in order to drive successful resultsProvides technical leadership for systems on crossfunctional incident resolution teams.Provides technical leadership and guidance to junior administratorsWhat Youll Bring 10+ years of engineering experience/exposure in Networking, Storage, Servers, Virtualization with subject matter specialization in Linux systems architecture/designAbility to effectively prioritize, develop and execute multiple competing projects in a highpressure environmentHave a strong desire to continually learn and grow professionallyDevelop infrastructure, roadmap and capacity planningAbility to apply architecture standards, infrastructure engineering, and data center best practicesBachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalentAble to successfully contribute in crossfunctional teams containing a mixture of technical and nontechnical peers.Experience with Docker, Puppet, Red Hat Satellite Server, Splunk, and Nagios.Experience in a large environment ( 1000 hosts) with 24x7 support requirements.Experience with implementation in AWS public cloud, onprem private cloud technologies and hybrid cloud environments.Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes is a plus.
