Network Engineer

Description

Position responsible for the development, creation and delivery of support to enterprise employees and customers. The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of ABCs internal network, including customerfacing hosted and cloud environments. They will provide expert technical assistance to team members with highlevel system and networking request. This role will be responsible designing, implementing and testing complex infrastructure in support of our Central Office, Stores and Customers needs. This position will provide onsite and remote support to our customers. You will work independently and as part of a team to answer service desk calls, urgently analyze technical issues, address Level 2 escalations, work with the project manager on team related projects, and troubleshoot over the phone/onsite/via remote access. This role will successfully demonstrate the skills required to secure and manage network infrastructures to protect productivity, mitigate threats, and reduce costs. Provide technical services and support for the following areas Network level WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security Internal systems, cloud and network infrastructure. Microsoft related technologies Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint Virtualization technologies Microsoft Remote access solution support VPN and Terminal Services Remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications Perform network assessments and security audits Participate in the administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system update agent scripts, respond to alerts, monitor dashboard, and periodic system review Work with VOIP (Shortel) Work with ABC divisions to engineer solutions, identify new products and solutions, and research solutions Document maintenance for all computer systems and network infrastructure Communication with customers as required keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering. Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations. Be available for other engineers and coach them to resolutionSkills RequiredProficient with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Hyperv, Blade/enclosures/Storage Microsoft Server (multiple versions) MCSE Server Infrastructure Familiarity with VPNs, VOIP, SIP Trunking, BGP, VLAN, Large Scale Wireless Deployments Security software such as Antivirus, AntiSPAM, AntiSpyware, and other security related technologiesSkills PreferredSwitching (Capacity Planning & VLANs) Routing (OSPF, RIPv2, BGP) WAN Technology (MPLS, VPLS, VPN) Voice Technologies (POTS, VoIP, SIP Trunking) Cisco CCNA/CCNP Palo Alto MCSE is welcomed, but not requiredExperience RequiredQualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' experience working in a like role or 3 years of experience working in Managed ServicesEducation RequiredBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other related field, or equivalent work experienceAdditional InformationA qualified candidate will have a clean driving record and be insurable under ABC's automobile policy All job duties will be performed onsite here in Montgomery, AL.
