Our role is to provide the following o tools for operations support to help them and improve efficiencies (troubleshooting tools, event consoles, incident reporting)o tools that our business application developers can use to view performance metrics and logs related to their applications.o Scripts to automate manual taskso Scripts to remediate issueso Identify new open source applications that we can leverage to provide these services. This includes architecture design, implementation, and support of the applicationWe call what we do DevOps as we try to improve efficiencies within Operations to help offer a better service to our developers in relation to support, stability, visibilityWe need someone who has a strong understanding of Network, Server Operating Systems, Databases and experience writing automation to help remediate or report on issues related to these.Description We are searching for a web application developer focused on Dev Ops related initiatives working with open source products and frameworks. This contractor can work onsite in Hartford, CT or in Omaha, NE Under general supervision, demonstrates a thorough understanding of the activities performed related to engineering support, installation and/or operations of infrastructure technologies. Plans at an operational level designing and developing technology solutions interfacing with appropriate customers, management and technical resources. Facilitates and/or participates in the design, development, and implementation of large complex technology solutions supporting one or more business and/or technology areas. Develops and implements appropriate solutions that may involve multiple platforms, databases, software/hardware technologies and tools. Strong ability to multitask in an environment of changing priorities. Education, Work Experience & Knowledge Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field preferred. 5 years of experience in Technology preferred. Service and Application development experience and a general working knowledge with the full stack of components required to run an application. Working knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as OS (Linux and Windows), Network, Database, Server, Storage etc. preferred. Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies Advanced knowledge of one or more of the following technical skills Programing Languages Python, Go, JavaScript Databases MySQL, MongoDB, Postgres, Oracle, MS SQL Familiarity with Micro Services Architecture design concepts
