IT Infrastructure Engineer

Description

Purpose/Objective The IT Infrastructure Engineer I is responsible for the design, installation, performance, and maintenance of all telecommunication, hardware, and software infrastructure. Key Accountabilities Consult with Information Technology staff, providers, and/or user personnel to evaluate requirements, recommend designs, provide cost analyses, help plan projects, and coordinate tasks for installation of all telecommunication, hardware, and software infrastructure. Ensure that all equipment is running in a stable, efficient, and secure manner to help meet the goals of the companys business plans. 50%Conduct technical research on infrastructure upgrades and components to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current systems. Provide network documentation and document network problems and resolutions for future reference. 20%Analyze and resolve technical problems for established networks. Serve as a technical specialist during infrastructure problems and emergencies; troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure problems. 25%Participate in an oncall rotation for regularhours and afterhours support, but should be available on a 7day, 24hour basis for emergency problem resolution. 5%Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by ones duties.Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or Bachelors Degree in Business with course work in the computer field or equivalent work experienceMCITP/CCNA/VCP Avaya certification(s) desiredExperience Minimum of 35 years computer experience in multiple platforms Windows servers, LAN and WAN, Internet and Telecommunications.Experience administering Microsoft Exchange environmentsExperience administering VMWare virtual environmentsExperience managing NetApp SANsExperience managing and configuring data backup software and hardwareExpertise in critical system vulnerability OS patch managementSkills & Knowledge Analytical/problem solving skillsExcellent documentation skillsAbility to communicate technical materials to nontechnical audiencesSelfstarter; able to work independently or in as part of a team
