ContributionsLeading engineering efforts to improve our search infrastructure (performance, reliability)Designing and implementing Solrbased infrastructure that powers applications other than searchWorking with data scientists to improve overall search qualityTroubleshooting searchrelated operational issuesWorking with teammates to create appropriate metrics for measuring and monitoring search quality and performanceDeveloping tools to better support/manage/provision our search clustersRequired Skills and ExperienceRich experience with Lucene/Solr, both for development and operations (experience with ElasticSearch a plus)Proficiency in web application programming (OOP, Java/C++, LAMP)Good understanding of algorithms and web servicesB.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalentDesired Skills and ExperienceExperience developing realworld web applications; consumer Internet experience3+ years experience
