Job DescriptionWe are looking for a passionate engineer, an expert in Identity, Access Management and Authorization frameworks, to join the Platform group of the Policy Compute Engine (PCE) team. Our growing Platform group is responsible for frameworks upon which Illumios Adaptive Security Platform (ASP) is built. The key aspects include identity management and authorization frameworks, cluster management, high availability, caching and persistence layers, API support, background jobs, reporting infrastructure and more. We focus on the important aspects of scale and performance of the system to meet the demands of our customers. This includes system responsiveness and performance while maintaining active connections to tens of thousands of managed servers. We also build features that the rest of the product relies upon, such as interactions with Illumiomanaged servers (VENs) and the resulting workload lifecycle management. At Illumio, we design systems and write code that runs both in our own multitenant cloud service and in customer data centers around the world. In this role, you will focus on two aspects identity and access management for the Illumio ASP product and also enhance our Rolebased access control (RBAC) roadmap. We are a distributed systems product focused on the security space and so product security is a high priority for us. Knowledge of SAML and other authentication protocols is highly desired. We are looking for someone who has built RBAC frameworks, used databases (experience with PostgreSQL is a bonus) and designed RESTful APIs for performant and scalable distributed systems. We seek selfdriven engineers who want to be handson, design, implement and own code all the way through customer deployment. You will have the opportunity to ask the right questions, articulate design tradeoffs and proposed solutions. You will also proactively work with the Security team to address any security vulnerabilities uncovered via our penetration testing. We value the ability and desire to learn, to mentor junior engineers and to collaborate with peers and leaders in our organization. We write unit and integration tests before we hand off our highquality code to QA. And were kept honest by a worldclass QA team wholl let us know if it isnt. We are a startup with tight deadlines and a dynamic, challenging environment. Our guiding philosophy as we grow is to focus, ship high quality products while having fun, and practice disciplined engineering.QualificationsWe are looking for someone who has built RBAC frameworks, used databases (experience with PostgreSQL is a bonus) and designed RESTful APIs for performant and scalable distributed systems.
