Description

The Senior Network Engineer candidate will be responsible for the administration, support and design of the Dialog Direct network environment. The candidate will manage all network related devices located in North and South America including hardware and software upgrades, security patches, and maintenance. He/she will be responsible for the monitoring of the overall health and performance of the LAN\WAN environment utilizing multiple enterprise monitoring solutions. Strong communication and documentation skills are critical to this position.
Duties Be a key member of team responsible for the design and implementation of network configurations, network architecture, including hardware and software technology, and integration of technologies.
Strong troubleshooting, testing and debugging skills with Layer 2/3 Cisco/HP/Juniper switch/router networks. Maintain all WAN connections (MPLS, Internet, SitetoSite VPN, etc.)
Able to supervise/oversee projects that relate to companys core Cisco, HP and Juniper Switch/Router/Firewall environments and assists with configuration and maintenance of infrastructure LAN/WAN routers, switches and firewalls
Maintains configuration management for all production networks and systems with limited or no downtime
Plan for, Install, configure, and maintain load balancers (F5), Citrix Netscalers, and Cisco/Juniper firewalls. Manage routing and rule base on all firewalls quickly and efficiently
Plan for, Install, configure and maintain VPN concentrators and SitetoSite VPN connections
Plan for, install and configure QOS for all network devices that can support it.
Participates in systems and network hardware/software/firmware upgrades
Provides capacity planning for internal and external hardware network connections
Provides both remote and onsite hardware, software and network support
Implements modifications and enhancements required to improve the performance, integrity and maintenance of some or all networking components
Participates with team to identify, evaluate and recommend network solutions and related tools and emerging technologies, and researching for continuous improvement paths
Monitors systems and network performance and provides security measures, troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
Helps team test and evaluate hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems and make purchase recommendations
Maintains technical documentation of operating procedures & equipment
Document daily work via the ServiceNow, adhere to strict change control, develop and maintain network and data flow diagrams
Provides technical assistance to remote facilities
Participates in projects that support companys core LAN and WAN infrastructures
Demonstrates high levels of safety awareness and notifies supervisor of potential hazards Follows the security and privacy policies, standards and guidelines in order to protect the information assets of both the company and their customers
Participate in rotation that provides afterhours support for international LAN/WAN/VoIP network.
Help develop network security standards, processes and tools
Qualifications Bachelors Degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
5+ years as a Network Engineer with core focus on Cisco Layer 2 / Layer 3 implementation and support in enterprise environments.
Hands on experience working in an enterprise VOIP environment
Hands on experience planning, designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco, Juniper and HP Switches/Routers/Firewalls in a large multisite, multiserver environment.
Hands on work experience with Layer 3 routing issues involving BGP, OSPF, static routing, dynamic routing, etc.
Hands on experience with MPLS networks
5+ years current experience with TCP/IP Networks
CCNA/CCNP or equivalent experience
CCIE or working towards it a plus
Hands on keyboard strengths working with Cisco routers and switching gear and willingness to learn and aptitude to learn more as required by environment. Strong network routing BGP and OSPF protocol troubleshooting skills
Strong implementation and support of routers and switches Thorough understanding how networks interface with Linux, VMware, and Windows environments
Cisco UCS experience would be a plus.
Thorough understanding of supporting Cisco products within a heavy virtual environment
Experience with Network monitoring and other network administrative tools such as Solarwinds, Nagios or similar. Hands on experience evaluating netflow, wireshark packet captures, and other logging information to trouble shoot and resolve network issues
Perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of timesensitive deadlines
Able to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Demonstrate integrity, ingenuity and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
