Java Developer

Description

Successful candidates must be selfdirected, open to learning and have strong written and verbal communication skills. Bachelors Degree in CS or related field is required. Candidate must have 5+ years experience with java development and web programming; experience with portlet and Spring framework development is preferred. Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases is required. Knowledge of software development lifecycle is required. Candidate must be capable of working independently and as part of a team. Basic knowledge of Unix is required; experience in system administration is preferred. Experience in business analysis and requirements gathering is preferred. Designs, develops, deploys and maintains software that meets the current and future needs of business stakeholders for research informatics systems within the TUHS. Independently performs tasks required for all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, business analysis and project planning. Manages supported projects. Facilitates technical implementation and projects initiatives related to internally developed and 3rd party software in support of organizational goals and objectives. Provides technical customer support, as required. Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Applied Mathematics or other related field (Required) Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Applied Mathematics or other related field (Preferred) Experience 5 years experience in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and/or Project Life Cycle (PLC) (Required) 5 years experience in web application development, software solutions, or database development (Required) General experience and knowledge of Java, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, CSS, XML and other relevant technologies (Required) General experience in requirements gathering and business analysis (Preferred)
General experience with customer support (Preferred)
