Description
Daily Responsibilities Work with vendors, team members, project managers, and business analysts to formulate designs based on Corning IT standards and requirements from the Corning business units.
Develop or review/approve Infrastructure low level designs (LLD) and high level designs (HLD)
Ensure the availability and stability of the network environment as required by our customers and projects by engaging with managed service providers and Operations team.
Support the architecture of the WAN, LAN, and Wireless LAN environment by enforcing technology standards, deployment practices, build procedures, and change management.
Perform design tasks and develop components of infrastructure and technical architecture.
Coordinate with team, managed service providers, and vendors to implement solutions.
Develop comprehensive implementation and test plans. Execute tests for infrastructure or technical architecture components
Inform the technical architect and project manager of any issues that may affect project delivery
Provide support for crossfunctional project and operational issues that are complex or difficult to resolve.
Qualifications BS in Computer Science /Network Administration/IT Related field or equivalent work experience
Required Skills
Previous experience designing and implementing WAN, LAN, and Wireless LAN network solutions in large global enterprise environments.
Advanced technical understanding of WAN, LAN, and Wireless LAN hardware and technologies.
Advanced technical understanding of Core routing and switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting. Knowledge and experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, Cisco routers.
Advanced knowledge and experience with routing protocols OSPF, EIGRP, BGP
Advanced knowledge and experience with network management and authentication tools such as Wireshark, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Cisco Wireless Control System, TACACS+, RADIUS
Knowledge and experience with network security and firewall technologies such as IPSec VPN, VPNtunneling, Palo Alto Firewalls and/or Cisco ASA Firewalls.
Knowledge and experience with Wireless network design and configuration using Cisco technologies (WLC, ISE, WAPs)
Knowledge and experience with design and deployment of MPLS networks, MPLS QOS
Knowledge and experience with Riverbed WAN accelerators
Knowledge and understanding of load balancers, F5 and RadWare a plus
