Principal Engineer, Smart Technology

What you will do Lead the development of smart technology, driving the overall strategy, roadmap, development delivery and operations
Understand, analyze, and break down complex problems into work for internal groups with diverse backgrounds.
Build a highly effective squad comprised of direct employees as well as contractors and bestofbreed ecosystem partners
Partner closely with the Brewer Appliance Product and Engineering as well as KCBU product leader, program management, and IoT Technology leaders to ensure delivery of the end to end smart solution inbrewer and offbrewer
Provide direct day to day architectural and technology problemsolving, coaching, direction and guidance to product teams in a startuplike environment
Review current and future business propositions to architect work packages and assist in overall product roadmap strategy.
Evaluate and identify appropriate technology stacks and platforms, including web application frameworks and cloud providers
Guide and coach on Agile techniques and ways of working to help improve teams and software development process
Establish and coach teams on performance, quality and security conventions and standards
Provide guidance and insight to product teams to establish governance processes, direction and control to ensure objectives are achieved and risks are managed appropriately for product development
Maintain uptodate knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices by attending relevant conferences and reading widely
Encourage contribution to open source software development, standardization of technologies, and evolution of best practices by collaborating with peers, releasing code, presenting at conferences, and writing for publication
Qualifications
What you must have Bachelors of Science Degree; relevant advanced degree preferred
10+ years in Senior engineering and technology roles working with product development teams, delivering and building digital and IoT products while remaining handson
Experience leading engineering teams in the development, launch and operations of connected products, ideally in a residential setting
Experience in image smart technologies, both conventional and AI/ML enhanced algorithms
Experience in designing and building embedded image sensing to meet stringent speed and accuracy to provide a world class consumer experience
Strong examples of coaching, facilitating and guiding others directing, leading and mentoring others to do the right thing for product integration
Familiarity with contemporary development frameworks, protocols and methods
Experience building and operating IoT platforms built on Azure, AWS or similar PaaS and Cloud providers
A depth and breadth understanding of the digital technology space with the ability to stay current and uptodate on trends and technologies
A passion for artificial intelligence and deep learning technologies, both cloud and edge solutions
A wide experience and understanding of architecture in terms of solution, data and integration
Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities and risk management
Proven leadership; ability to articulate ideas to both technical and nontechnical audiences
Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal
Impeccable integrity and a positive cando attitude
Ability to follow KGM policies and procedures as well as our operating principles
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with strong sense of urgency
