Infrastructure Engineer

Description

Job Duties
Act as a lead in a team of Network, Systems, VOIP, Storage and Virtualization engineers to support and scale our global corporate and production infrastructure
Assist the Director of Information Technology in delivering the global IT vision and projects
Perform setup and ongoing maintenance of physical and virtual sever systems
Perform deployment tasks for customerfacing applications
Monitor system and application metrics
Provide support for internal customers, including participation in a 24x7 oncall support
Manage hardware and software lists and create documentation of the systems infrastructure topology
Participate in the design of system infrastructure to support critical customer and internal facing applications
Position must occasionally
Lift/move up to 30 pounds
Stand for long periods; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Support the Corporate staff in Avalara satellite offices
Qualifications
Administration of Windows Servers, Linux is a plus.
Systems automation and configuration management experience with Ansible and SCCM
Experience with statistics collection/monitoring DataDog, SumoLogic, Nagios, SolarWinds
Working knowledge of Internet Protocols SMTP, POP3, IMAP, FTP, SSH, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS
Experience with virtualization management technologies and cloud infrastructure (VMware, HyperV, AWS)
Server hardware and technologies experience (HP, Dell)
Experience with NAS and SAN storage systems, iSCSI, FC and solid understanding of storage fundamentals
Possess excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
Strong communication and documentation skills
