System Engineer

Primary Purpose
The Sr. Systems Engineer plays a significant role within the IT organization. The IT organization works within a fastpaced environment to provide realtime project level support and support for system issues at multiple sites. This is a key position, which requires the skills of an architect and systems administrator as well as the patience and tact of a good customer service representative.
Major Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Designing and implementing client and server architecture to include hardware platforms, client applications, server services, operating systems, storage networks, and network equipment as it applies to enterprise infrastructure
Evaluates tests, recommends and deploys new/upgraded hardware, OS, network, and infrastructure applications, integrating with existing system configurations
Analyzes current enterprise and makes recommendations for capacity planning, performance tuning and design issues
Provides system architecture strategy and roadmaps for client/server implementations of various Microsoft, Linux, and VMware based solutions
Enforces Windows server/Linux server administration standards, policies and guidelines and develop and implement them as the needs are identified and prioritized
Provides 2nd/3rd tier support for server design, infrastructure, and associated IT services for the entire company
