Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs routine and advanced Oracle database development, planning, and coordinating, including base definition, structures, documentation, upgrades, longrange requirements, operational guidelines and protection; RAC implementation and support
Advises on and tests the following database related activities troubleshooting, recovery, tuning of the database, user security, RDBMS software installation and upgrades, resolving Oracle errors and failures, auditing activities and resource utilization
Develops and tests changes for the database and database environment in response to change requests generated by the appropriate management staff
Provides database technical support in maintaining and building the database nonproduction environments including database refreshes, database patch management, database space management, database performance tuning and migration/upgrade of the nonproduction database environments to LINUX/Oracle 12c/11g
Provides database technical support for Technology and Application Delivery projects to include analysis of database design, performance impact analysis and application tuning, environment provisioning, security assessments, database build executions and supporting project deployments
Provides technical input to software developers and end users in the areas of hardware and database capabilities
Monitors all database activity for operational improvements, including CPU, Disk and Memory utilization, replication using Oracle Golden Gate 12c and consistency of sites, longrunning queries, query explain plans and overall performance of databases
Manages access to databases to ensure corporate security practices are followed
Ensures all databases are backed up per department specifications
Implements changes into production environment per the change control board process
Provides level 1, 2 and 3 technical support for database issues
Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in computer related studies with five to 10 years of related experience with other DBMS software
Oracle DBA certification is preferred
Advanced knowledge of ORACLE DBA administration, database system and application tuning and recovery
Experience with PL/SQL development and Database cluster infrastructure
