Architect Specialist would provide architecture oversight on technology products for common platforms which are foundational to build any application within Asset Management. Some of the expectations in this role would include Develop sound, wellarchitected solutions and articulate their benefits, demonstrating a solid understanding of application, data and infrastructure architecture expertise and systems design. Collaborate with IT leadership and product teams to outline the benefits and challenges of implementing and transitioning to the future state architecture. Be a problem solver capable of translating product needs into technology capabilities. Work closely with the architecture group and participate in architecture reviews, develop best practices and insure adherence to standards, roadmaps and the IT Blueprint. Proactively monitor industry trends and ensure that Fidelity Investments continues to be a leader in delivering high quality IT solutions to its Asset Management business. Ensure that Fidelity Investments is well positioned against its competitors and that the clients and shareholders are well served. Act as an advocate for architecture, internally and externally. Evangelize the architecture mission through consistent communication and strong listening and persuasion skills. Facilitate consensus across a diverse group of independent minded colleagues. Lead the overall definition of the architecture competency, promote the engagement model and communicate the overall architecture value proposition.
The Expertise were looking for
Strong technical foundation including an undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field ideally combined with an advanced technical degree. An outstanding individual who will bring the depth of functional and business experience, along with the personal qualities well suited for the challenge Depth of knowledge in architecture and an ability to translate product capabilities into technology strategy. Proficiency in multiple enterprise technology platforms, architectural styles, and techniques. Ability to quickly acquire skills. Previous experience in creating strategy and roadmaps for asset management foundational platforms and translating them into action plans is a plus. Strong development and process methodology discipline expertise. The successful candidate will lead the definition and adoption of architecture engagement models and ALM best practices, while promoting and communicating their value proposition. Technical expertise in heterogeneous environments is required. Experience in developing solutions incorporating bespoke development, packaged vendor applications and cloud based softwareasaservice offerings is strongly preferred. Passionate about technology and its application to solve intricate problems in asset management. Experience in the application of diverse technologies including cloud, web, transaction processing, stream applications, messaging platforms, distributed caches, functional programming, and reactive applications. Experience working on platform solutions and on technologies such as Tibco EMS, Active MQ, Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Java / J2EE, Spring, myBatis, jQuery, JavaScript, Angular. Exposure to Scala and Akka are added plus. Has made architecture and technology decisions to address both functional and nonfunctional requirements Has worked on fault tolerant, and resilient architecture Is aware of the latest trends in application architectures and application development, including new features with the latest release of Java, functional programming, microservices, scale out architectures, different approaches to database technologies, including NoSQL etc. Has knowledge in CI/CD technologies, including Maven, NPM, Jenkins, Chef, Cloud formation. Has a good understanding and experience in AWS services like EMR, S3, Lambda, Cloud Formation and Kinesis. 10+ years experience in designing, implementing and delivering large complex systems Financial Industry experiences a plus.
