Java Developer

Description

Use knowledge of, and experience with, Java technologies (such as J2SE, Swing, JDBC, Java Servlets, JSP),
application servers (such as Tomcat, JBoss),
Web Services (such as SOAP, REST),
relational databases (such as MySQL, Oracle, Postgresql),
HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, JUnit, Spring Framework,
ORM technologies (such as JPA, Hibernate, Spring Data),
Git or SVN, and Maven or ANT to support the design and development of high availability and redundant applications deployed in a multitier clustered environment.
Requirements Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and five (5) years of experience evidencing demonstrable experience to perform the stated job duties
OR
a Masters degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and three (3) years of experience evidencing demonstrable experience to perform the stated job duties.
Design and develop webbased and desktop applications that meet stakeholder requirements with adherence to established development practices and quality standards. Collaborate with the Director of Technology, other senior developers and system administrators to design, develop and maintain a robust, reliable, scalable and highly available system.
Work with Project Managers to identify software requirements, estimate resources and establish software release schedules.
Work with senior developers responsible for other system components to ensure smooth and reliable integration of system components resulting in the expected endtoend system functionality.
Work with System Administrators and other technical support personnel to ensure suitable environments and resources are available for development, testing and deployment.
Periodic review and enhancement of software development practices to ensure timely delivery of high quality software and services.
Work with SQA personnel to ensure and enhance software quality.
Work with Data Services personnel to ensure that the software meets the expected data requirements.
