Description
Experience 2 years experience working with Microsoft Windows and basic TCP/IP Networking is required.
2 years experience working with Linux, PostgreSQL, Apache, Tomcat, iptables is preferred.
Experience installing configuring Windows and peripherals such as printers
Experience troubleshooting common Windows issues Skills Proficient in Windows XP/Vista/7, Linux, networking, SQL
Advanced troubleshooting skills Knowledge General knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Windows desktop systems, Linux servers, common Linuxbased software such as Apache, PostgreSQL, Postfix, iptables
A good understanding of resource monitoring and tuning
Physical Abilities Able to verbally communicate with internal and external customers, closeup vision (computer work), and fine hand coordination in repetitive tasks and motions type on computer.
Able to lift equipment such as servers and monitors

Essential Functions / Job Duties (please list as numbered statements) 1. Assist in the design, implementation and management of Linux systems and network infrastructure including account creation/deletion, creating project environments and monitoring of systems.
2. Assist in managing host and networkbased services including, but not limited to email, web, DNS, DHCP, directory and databases
3. Work with development and technical teams to accomplish service implementation and deployment.
4. Carry out tasks/projects related to the systems and network infrastructure as directed by the IT Manager
5. Participates in system and network documentation efforts.
6. Provide 24x7 support on production Web, database and application servers; maintain an agreed upon response time for any incident; and perform system maintenance in the off hours as needed.
7. Perform other duties as reasonably requested by management Special Skills and/or Requirements The Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible for all aspects of systems administration including networks, applications, databases, and telecommunications. This includes implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring and the development of specialized system procedures. This individual also provides desktop support to company employees.
Key Contacts Will interface with internal company staff of management, project managers, developers, support staff and external vendors.
Position Qualifications Education Bachelors Degree, technical certification (or equivalent experience) in an information technology field.
