Front End Web Developer/Designer

Job Description Will work as part of a creative design team to leverage skills to produce high level electronic projects. Expert knowledge in building sites from scratch within HTML5, including the ability to hand code, use CSS, JavaScript and other development tools. Knowledge of coding for responsive frameworks (i.e., bootstrap) or ability to create within a fluid grid system (9, 12, 24) a must. Must be able to optimize websites for mobile. Needs working knowledge of Photoshop. Experienced in Google Analytics or Omniture for measurement and interpretation. Solid background in blocking sites from SEO and indexing. Ability to test web functionality, suggest and implement process improvements for web quality assurance (QA). 5+ years experience a must.
You are the first UI/UX hire for a fast growing business unit undergoing business transformation within a global firm. As such, you will be trusted with overall creative ownership of our user experience function, including visual design, UI, interaction design, and information architecture. You will collaborate closely with Product Management and Marketing Leaders, and expected to defend design choices backed with industry standards, research and data.
Responsibilities Collaborate with product managers, marketers, users, and other stakeholders to understand and capture persona, user journey, and pain points
Translate concepts into static artifacts and high fidelity mockups
Build prototypes or clickthroughs that capture key interactive user experience
Nitpick at design details and obsess over pixels
Present and defend your ideas and design choices backed with industry standards, research and data
Thoughtfully iterate design rounds incorporating team feedback
Create innovative designs while staying flexible to adapt to existing Aon brand standards
Qualifications Bachelors degree, 5+ years of experience as a UI/UX designer
Portfolio demonstrating prowess designing websites and software applications
Proficient in Axure, Balsamiq, or equivalent prototype and mockup tools
Live and breathe Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint
Great sense of typography and color theory
(Optional Plus) Keen photographic eye, video editing experience
(Optional Plus) HTML/CSS/JavaScript and frameworks (bootstrap, angular.js)
