As DevOps Engineer, you will be a change agent and key member of Digital & ITs DevOps team as we transform our commerce platform.
You will own architecting Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery products for Cloud Native Applications and Traditional Web Applications across Dell IT and enable adoption of end to end DevOps across application teams.
Responsibilities
Your success will be driven by your holistic view of DevOps including Test Driven Development, your ability to code and configure tools, and by your deep understanding of Cloud Technologies and ability to assemble and integrate technology across disparate platforms Research and develop best of breed technologies around automation across traditional web application as well as Cloud Native applications that leverage Pivotal Cloud Foundry PaaS Platform
Architect end to end CI/CD Solution for automating software delivery for Cloud Native Solutions deployable on Pivotal Cloud Foundry PaaS Platform
Architect end to end CI/CD Solution for automating software delivery for traditional applications
Design a container based CI/CD environment that will scale to support Dell ITs evolution to cloud Native Application Architecture Delivery
Integrate Testing frameworks and tools to automate testing into Software Delivery
Work closely with Software delivery teams to evangelize DevOps culture and enable Automation for their applications
Act as a liaison with other Architects (security, infrastructure, EA and Application) and with delivery teams working primarily within an Agile and Pivotal methodology
Mentor delivery team technical leads and developers
Qualifications
10 years of IT experience focusing on software development and DevOps with experience in Cloud Native technology and Container solutions, with a BS Computer Science preferred (or additional, equivalent experience may be considered), experience to include Excellent communication and presentation skills, and ability to discuss and defend Architectural decisions with a team of strong technical architects
.Net or Java/Spring application platform development
Designing DevOps solutions leveraging Docker/LXC containers and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
DevOps and Build Tools
Automation frameworks like Puppet and Bosh automating a realworld production environment
Ubuntu Linux administration and scripting, specifically with Ubuntu Operating System
Architecting end to end CI/CD solutions using popular Platforms like Jenkins or GitLab
Deep understanding of Microservice Architecture and REST based implementation of APIs
Strong scripting skills (Powershell, Python, Bash etc.)
Automated testing tools like selenium and JMeter
Strong experience in Source code repositories like Git and SVN
Experience in Cloud Native Application Architecture with working knowledge of Platform as a Service (PaaS).
Very good understanding of declarative programming based on YAML
Strong working knowledge of developing 12factor applications
Candidates should be a technical domain expert, experienced with DevOps both as a philosophy and having implemented its ideas
Preferences
Strong preference for a polyglot programmer/Architect who is comfortable in various development environments including .NET Core
Experience in Pivotal Cloud Foundry or open source Cloud Foundry platform is desired
Masters degree, ideally Computer Science or related is desired
