Manager, Test Automation

Job Summary The Sr. Manager, Test Automation must have deep knowledge in software testing methodologies, automation best practices, and software development life cycle (SDLC). This position requires someone who is detail oriented, understands infrastructure operations, and application development methodologies.
The Sr. Manager, Test Automation will manage a team that will design and write automated scripts for functional testing, integration testing, performance testing, and regression testing. The manager will be responsible for monitoring results, logging defects, and validation of defect fixes. Responsibilities will include creating a robust automation framework ensuring scalability and reusability, and for maintaining a testing infrastructure that can be applied to multiple environments. The Sr. Manager, Test Automation will collaborate with different teams, leverage all existing scripts and create one common test environment for all applications.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities Participate in requirements, design and functional specification reviews at varying levels within the system
Writing test plans and test procedures to perform system and system integration testing
Writing manual and automated test scripts with the aid of test tools and simulators
Testing hardware and software against the system requirements and interface specification requirements
Working closely with the internal and external design/test teams in identifying problems
Document identified problems with enough detail and in a manner that supports resolution
Produce periodic status and operational reports Apply and improve the utilization of all software and hardware tools and assist in the creation of new testing software, hardware tools and techniques. Make independent technical contributions insupport of program objectives, as well as interacting with other Wabtec or contract engineers and customers Occasional travel requirements
Requirements/Qualifications A technical degree (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related technical degree plus 10 yrs of experience in the Project Testing Field. An equivalent amount of education and experience will be considered.
A minimum of 10 years of testing experience with a significant focus being on test automation engineer on large software implementation projects
Extensive experience with a variety of automation approaches and tools
Strong analytical and communication skills
Passion to maintain a high degree of quality
Indepth knowledge of the SDLC as well as various software testing methodologies
Demonstrated ability to think strategically to develop process, tools and frameworks that help ensure effectiveness across a variety of stakeholders.
Experience with Agile Development
Experienced in developing a longterm strategy for technology platforms development and translating that into an achievable roadmap Experience and understanding of the operational interworkings of computer information systems and database management systems used to support complex ntiered systems
A strong understanding of general network design principles including TCP/IP and UDP
A strong understanding of Class D & EMP message structures.
Experience with common TCP message structures and packet analysis
Knowledge and experience with microprocessors and common electronic components.
Proven experience developing test cases and test plans
Experience using creative skills to effectively break code
Experience testing clientserver applications running in web browsers, mobile apps, and/or embedded devices
Experience testing user interfaces for clientserver applications in web browsers, mobile apps and/or embedded devices
Knowledge of IBM CLM, Eggplant, Android, iOS
