Description
The candidate will work in Computing Platform Engineering and will be a member of the Unix Platforms team and engaged in aspects of software management on Linux and Solaris platforms.
The work will include the design, development, and implementation of a crossplatform 3rd party software management and packaging utility, setting packaging standards, producing infrastructure to assist in proprietary software packaging within the organization.
The candidate will also engage application development and system administration teams in the areas of packaging, software management, and software distribution
Skills and Qualifications
Solaris and Linux operating systems
Programming and scripting experience (shell, Perl, C, Java)
Development methodologies and the development lifecycle
Thorough understanding and experience with Unix packaging standards, methodologies, tools, and approaches
