Description
The Developer will be tasked with providing data conversion solutions by developing conversion applications and routines as well as executing data conversions under guidance of Sr. Associates. Works under minimal supervision. The technical environment consists of SAS (75% Base, Enterprise Guide, ETL), Linux 25% and DB2.
This resource will be converting retirement, 401(k) and define contribution funds from clients to our platform, which means there will be a high level of scrutiny and pressure.
The candidate will be working with Develops complex or multiple conversion applications and routines. May determine and develop approaches to solutions. Assists in the review of associate work for accuracy and overall quality. Assists in conducting studies of alternatives, analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management. Works on multiple projects concurrently and contributes to ontime and onbudget project goals.
Responsibilities Complies with data conversion and implementation standards Develops original and creative technical solutions to ongoing data conversion efforts Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several data conversions at one time Supports multiple projects concurrently and executes data conversions on time consistently Designs conversion routines or subsystems to support increasing data conversion program complexity. Performs functional analysis for small to moderate projects Participates in data conversion design and accuracy review. Develops data conversion routines for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives. Directs in writing and maintaining data conversion code from documented logic and instructions of limited to moderate complexity Performs code and unit testing for moderate to complexscope data conversion routines Responsible for postinstallation testing correction of any conversion problems.
Assists in the planning and conducting of client/user review of conversion results (reports and implementation of corrections Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to the data conversion of implementation Responsible for supporting implementation of moderatescope to major data conversions Responsible for postinstallation testing and correction of any conversion problems Develops comprehensive documentation for all data conversions Assists in writing and maintaining data conversion code from documented logic and instructions of limited to moderate complexity Responsible for postinstallation testing correction of any conversion problems.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree preferred SAS Base programming experience is required (5 years minimum) Experience with SAS EG is a must (3+ years preferred) Strong expertise in Linux OS is required (UNIX is the only other option if no Linux) 2+ years experience extensive expertise of the data conversions from 3rd party/external sources to internal implementation process includes analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning Application/technology experience or similar related training, focusing in the area of data analysis and/or data processing. Experience in Financial Services, Banking, 401(k), Define Contribution, Mixed Election, Retirement funds is highly preferred. Strong ETL process and experience / expertise is required Solid understanding of Financial data / application experience is preferred
