Big Data (Hadoop preferred) Job Description Fairway Mortgage currently uses a 3rd party tool (Encompass through Ellie Mae)for their LOS (Loan Origination System). This means that they don't own any of that data and must go through Ellie Mae in order to pull any data/information which is not only time consuming but it tends to cause issues when too many requests are being made within this high volume (multiterabyte) environment. They have decided they need to build their own internal data platform where they can put all of their information and data from this application and others and be able to store and report off of it. The data platform will also lend itself to other down stream applications as well. At this high volume (multiterabyte) environment they have decided to go with MongoDB. They need someone who can install and configure the MongoDB instant and then help them grow that instant and also migrate that into production and QA and so on.. This person has the opportunity to help build out a brand new MongoDB Platform for Fairway.There is also a chance of bringing in Hadoop so this person could gain some of that experience if they don't already have it. NonTechnical Skills This person needs to fit the Fairway culture this means someone that is friendly, family oriented, comfortable and capable of communicating and talking about concepts with the users/business without being overly technical with them, need to be a team player and a mentor.
