3. Linux system administration experience Job Description A Senior Integration Engineer (IE) with experience designating, building large scale application integration architectures and framework. The candidate will work with the software development and infrastructure engineering teams to maintain and extend the build, deployment strategies as well implement full automation of the software products.
The IE will understand the application / system architecture of Client Facing Technology products in order to design the best deployment structure to ensure a highly available and scalable system.
The IE must have a strong knowledge of source control and build tools Subversion and Maven. The IE must have a strong working knowledge of Linux (preferably RH & Centos), understanding of networking and firewalls and experience with Ntier application architecture.
The IE must have expert knowledge of the deployment tool Puppet and have designed & implemented a Puppet deployment strategy on a large scale application / system. Additional Information The day to day duties of this person will be automating the deployment process for the core records management system. This person will need to be able to put in place a process that can be easily repeated over multiple instances. Work Environment This person will be working on a team of 30 people on the development of the core records management system. Business Challenge Iron Mountain stores and manages records/files for their clients. They have a warehouse to hold all of the files. They are building a core records management system to be able to track all of the records and easily locate them in the warehouse if need be. This person will be contributing to the development team as they develop this application by using puppet to design and implement a deployment strategy to automate this process, which means that as the developers are writing the application, it will be continuously deploying. EVP Iron Mountain is the best at what they do within their industry of storing and managing their clients records. They are 7 times larger than their biggest competitor. This project is building a front end to this system that will be used for years to come. This is a multiyear project that still has about two years left. NonTechnical Skills Since this person will be working as part of a team of 30, they will need to have great communication skills and the ability to interact and collaborate with other team members. This is not a headsdown role. Why is position open This is a multiyear, multimillion dollar project and Rod wants the deployment process to be automated. He has invested a lot of money into puppet and needs someone who knows the ins and outs of it.
