Network Engineer

Description

1. Cisco Network Engineering Experience CCNP level desired. Ideally in a traveling role or where they have been responsible for maintaining multiple sites must know cabling, wire management, and access points. Also must be trained and experienced in MPLS, Routing and T1 setup and trouble shooting, including bonding T1s.
2. Extensive BGP/VRF experience. They have multiple BGP connections to various sites and various service providers for the various business units (CW, Verizon, AT&T and their Sprint environment is multi tenant) Someone coming from a service provider will understand this environment. 3. VLAN setups setting up connectivity for the internet and their sites. 4. Cisco routing and switching (understanding the design and implementing layer network solutions for Routing & switching) TK IT is a Shared Services environment. The VRF virtualizes the routing to their different business units. Each unit has their own VRF and they all access a shared pool of resources. Our ideal candidate has supported multiple VRFs and multiprotocol BGP. Many of their business units remote sites have a BGP which they use to route the VRF. The remote sites are multilink bonded T1s to the MPLS cloud. These resources will need wireless Cisco experience. Voice experience is a nice to have as they will be working with a team to set up voice gateways for each site. They dont need the implementation experience. Up to 25% travel nationwide per month to remote sites. Travel is not billable (they are not paid for travel time all expenses are covered), that said they do allow some remote work after travel. Its all major cities, not too many small cities. Overnight stay is certainly part of the job. Typically they would go to say, Rochester or Chicago on a Wed and return Monday night. Then be back in the office Tuesday or Wednesday. Then the same thing in 2 or three weeks Network engineer for ThyssenKrupp Elevator network will be responsible for data center infrastructure (6500 series chassis) and remote sites
Responsible for TKNA data center network infrastructure (NXOS 7K, 5K, 3K, 2K and 6500 series chassis) multitenant environment with 7 different VRFs
Upgrade 4500 series chassis code
Responsible for 160 remote sites network infrastructure (Cisco 2900, 2800 series routers and Cisco 2900 series switches)
Troubleshoot network problems daily
Manage Trapeze Wireless APs and Controllers (MX200, MX8)
Manage Cisco Wireless APs and Controllers (5508)
Responsible for netflow and network monitoring utilizing Zyrion Traverse
Responsible for NetMRI tool
Manage Cisco ASA Firewall (5505, 5510)
Manage Cisco ASR routers
Manage Checkpoint Firewall
Pointtopoint VPN
Remote Access VPN
Network MDF/IDF rack evaluations
Update and create standard QoS policy while working with ShoreTel vendor
Update fractional T1 sites to full T1
Implement redundant circuit solutions for district Elevator sites
utilizing VzB/TW MPLS and Sprint MPLS. Policy based routing with route
tagging was utilized
Basic management of ShoreTel add users in Director, update sites
bandwidth, configure SG50, SG90, SG220T1 switches
Implement network solutions through project work
Work tier 3 tickets utilizing HP Service Manager
Work with Logicalis Netcare group 3rd party group functioning as the NOC Validates site readiness/assessment for migration in the unITe DCDB Coordinates new circuit orders & old circuit cancellations Assist in detail site migration planning Validates/performs site acceptance testing criteria Prepares/represents RFC's at local CAB's Updates LAN routers with new WAN IP address Attends regularly scheduled planning/ status meetings Completes and maintains appropriate project documentation
