Experience wtih Realia or Micro Focus Job Description Our client is currently developing in a COBOL & Delphi environment but is expecting to change platforms in the coming yeras. They have tons of batch logs which calls for a surge in workload as their current staff can't handle it.
Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or related subjects or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of operating systems, utilities and languages as required by the type of projects assigned
General knowledge of life insurance company operations.
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar environment using similar tools, programming languages and operating systems
2 years experience in project planning and project life cycle methodology
Technical Requirements
Develop functional and system designs based on business requirements, and service requests inclusive of time estimates for construction and system testing. Present functional design proposals to ISS and business unit management for review and approval. Develop complex systems or system modifications to satisfy business requirements within established target dates. Perform function and system testing that adheres with procedure to ensure conformity with functional requirements of the project.
Adhere to programming standards and ensure that complete documentation is provided to project manager on all modifications performed. Monitor and support QA and business unit system testing and address any testing issues
Assist in the mentoring and training of other staff.
Demonstrate excellent knowledge of LGA business practices, as well as, indepth knowledge of the Life Insurance industry. Continue LOMA education courses.
Research new technologies and present proposals to management on technologies that would facilitate processing of business or reduce costs to the organization.
Report project status and enter project time weekly.
Other projects or assignments as determined by supervisor.
