3+ years of Big Data exposure Job Description Our BI Solution Design group now has a position opened for Big Data/Hadoop designer. The candidate needs to have the structured DW design experience as we previously have required, plus unstructured DW design/development experience of Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, Hbase, etc. (see below). Design Skills Responsible for designing, developing , deploying & Supporting large scale distributed systems based on Hadoop, MapReduce, NOSQL.
Implement Big Data solutions using Hadoop technology stack, including Pig Latin, Hive, Hbase, Sqoop and Flume, Zookeeper, NOSQL, Avro, Thrift.
Development Skills Expertise in capacity management, data cleansing, ETL, performance tuning, metadata management inside Big Data/Hadoop, data warehouses and data marts.
Use Hadoop to crunch data and load into Data Warehouse staging area to further load into structure tables. This solution designer will work with Engineering and the Architect team on the design of the unstructured data using Hadoop. The data is coming from the set up boxes, social media, etc. This is DIRECTV EVERYWHERE project. Additional Information Proof of concept is already complete. This project has already started but there is so much work it will go to the end of the year. 2 Releases slated for the year July and Oct.
A Business Intelligence Hadoop Big Data Solutions Designer works under limited supervision to analyze and design data warehouse solutions, to develop and manage metadata from data warehouse and data access tools, and to monitor and manage data quality.
Work Environment Strong interpersonal and communications skills in order to work effectively with people at all levels of the enterprise from executives to developers and across the organizational spectrum from the Business, Engineering, to Information Technology
