Cognos Reports Developer

Job Description On a daytoday basis, this contractor will be working closely with Manitowoc Food Services Data Warehouse Manager and Lead Data Warehouse Architect to develop reporting specifications and develop between 20 25 various Cognos reports to be used by their sales team out in the field. These reports will be developed so that they're fully automated via Cognos. Currently, there are nightly processes which bring in data from various disparate systems such as an AS/400 (iSeries) based system and legacy ERP system (called QAD) which are dumped into Excel Spreadsheets with which they sales team is able to slice/dice the information.
Some of the initial reporting specifications have been captured, but the majority is still outstanding. Ideally this contractor will be able to work closely with the business to determine the current state of sales reporting, document the necessary reporting specifications and develop new Cognos 8 BI reports to be fully automated.
Additional Job Info Essential job functions 1. Design, develop, test, debut, implement and maintain stored procedures to support the data warehouse and Cognos reporting requirements. 2. Reviews and analyzes source data, analyzes and documents data flows, and validates mapping specifications and business rules from data source to target. 3. Assist with Cognos OLAP modeling and data loads to support dimensional analysis and reporting requirements 4. Develop fully automated Cognos 8 reports based on specific client specifications 5. Develop Framework Manager
