SQL DBA

Description

About us HPB is looking for an experienced MSSQL DBA. We are specifically targeting experience with Microsoft SQL Server. We currently support the following SQL instances.
5 legacy SQL 2000 instances
5 SQL 2005 instances
1 SQL 2008 instances
19 SQL 2008 R2 instances
16 SQL 2012 instances
7 SQL 2014 instances
What does the job entail
Perform ongoing, proactive database maintenance.
General SQL Server admin chores.
Disaster Recovery/Backup management and testing.
SSIS package creation and management.
ETL. We maintain complex data flows between a variety of environments.
Generating TSQL scripts.
Performance tuning and monitoring.
Index tuning and design.
Creating and editing stored procedures and views.
Managing database security.
Creating and maintaining documentation.
Experience with Red Gate SQL tools or a comparable solution.
SQL Server clustering.
Provide support and troubleshooting for production databases. Work closely with all IT subdepartments Infrastructure, Network Admin, Developers and Support Services to assure a smooth operation Responsible for production database disaster recovery for corporate SQL Servers
Responsible for production database disaster recovery or migration to new hardware for store SQL Servers
Configure and monitor log shipping for selected databases Monitor and troubleshoot database activity scheduled jobs (backups, maintenance, replication, log shipping, DTS, SSIS, SQL Clustering, etc.). Assure integrity and continuity of backups for offsite storage
Monitor and profile production database Servers for load and performance bottlenecks
Query optimization and performance tuning. Assist application developers with database schema and procedure changes according to company conventions and best practices. Analysis and approval of database schema and procedure changes from development to staging to production environments.
