Position Summary
An experienced MicroStrategy Developer that can work as part of an established BI team. Our projects span numerous functional areas and lines of business within the company. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years experience working with BI on various DBMS platforms.
The Details
Responsibilities include Participate in requirements discussion with business and stakeholders to understand the data integration requirements.
Well conversant with various requirements gathering techniques to capture business needs around data integration, data availability, frequency, performance SLAs etc.
5+ years of MicroStrategy development experience
Experience in both schema and public objects design and build
Hands on knowledge in designing or developing dashboards using MicroStrategy Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to effectively explain complex issues and concepts in simple, understandable Job Duties (include but not limited to)
Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications
Full life cycle BI development Create and modify schema objects
Design and build pixel perfect report service documents and interactive Flash dashboards
Implementation of web based adhoc reporting
Understand all source systems involved in depth by leading discussions with source system SMEs, DBAs to develop optimal approach for obtaining data from the source systems
Perform testing including Unit, Integration, Performance and Regression testing
Participate in troubleshooting of issues post production or as part of Operational support
Become a SME on the organizations data , processes and business methodologies Collaborate with technical experts and business units as needed during the project
Develop and manage project documentation deliverables Work with the team, SMEs and peers to ensure that the final solution meets the highest quality standards Complete special projects and other functions, as required This job requires access to confidential and sensitive information, requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management.
