Description

Job Description Perform the implementation, configuration, operational support, maintenance, and optimization of the cloud infrastructure. The Cloud System Administrator manages the performance and security of application servers and troubleshoots problems. The Cloud System Administrator works with the Cloud Solutions Engineer to ensure proper application sizing and provisioning, and collaborates with development leadership to deploy new technology and custom applications. Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelors degree with major in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related.
Experience o 5+ years as a Linux System Administrator or similar
Technology and Software
o Amazon Web Services experienced preferred
o Linux Operating systems (CentOS or similar) required
o Scripting language Ruby, Perl, or Python
o Monitoring Nagios, Zenoss, or similar
o Configuration Management Systems Salt, Chef, or similar
o Databases PostgreSQL or similar
Understanding the Role Your responsibility will be to ensure consistent maintenance of application servers.
Provision servers for functionality, performance, and security.
Work with Cloud Solutions Engineer and Development teams to deploy new technology initiatives and custom applications.
Comply with PCIDSS security guidelines
Improve application system monitoring and alerting to improve incident time to resolution while decreasing false positives.
Improve system logging and benchmarking in order to fine tune application clusters and gain better insight into application issues and performance.
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities Manage application server instances, including server maintenance, software upgrades, and initialization and run scripts.
Participate in 24/7 oncall support rotation.
Deploy security updates, new technology, and custom applications.
Required Skills System Administration This is a technical position that requires you to have advanced Linux System Administrator skills and fluency with Amazon Web Services and configuration management systems.
Communication The ability to communicate technical ideas to technical and nontechnical stakeholders is critical. Additionally, the ability to document change management and support procedures will ensure that environments are properly maintained and supported.
Leadership Collaborative leadership is important to gather technical and business requirements and build plans that incorporate feedback. Analytical You will be required to project the impact of design decisions and weigh compromises in operational criteria to meet business objectives.
