Java Job Description The North America Retail Services Center (NRSC) team, within Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions (TGCS) is looking for a C / C++ Developer to support their Point of Sale Application with in Walmart in order to reduce the backlog of development requests, which is negatively impacting potential revenue generation for the company. It is an Object Oriented C++ Application that makes strong use of several design patterns including singleton, factory, strategy, and model, view and controller. This Developer will be a working developer who takes work assignments but also provides technical direction, mentors the team, and ensures consistent development practices. This person will also be responsible for working with TGCS on the code management strategy.
ACE runs on a TGCS proprietary operating system called 4690. Therefore, someone who has worked on Linux environments usually pick it up faster than someone has worked in more of a graphical OS like Windows. There is no database. Data is stored file based again in the proprietary 4690 format. Responsibilities of the C++ Developer Include Implementing design specifications in C++ using Object Oriented principals Reviewing Functional Verification Test cases Resolving Functional Verification Test defects Providing installation support to customers Resolving customer reported issues and defects Creating design documents to meet defined requirements
Required Skills and Experience Experience as a C / C++ Developer Experience using Object Oriented concepts (inheritance, overriding, overloading, etc.) Familiarity with design patterns as he/she may need to help others who are not familiar with design patterns
Strong communication, analysis, and problem solving skills
Familiarity with Design Patterns for our onsite developer we probably want this to be a required skill as he/she may need to help others who are not familiar with design patterns
NICE TO HAVES POS software development experience is a plus
Java development experience
Experience with SQL
QA Experience
