General Description
The performance tester responsibilities include performing application/system performance and load test activities that includes the performance engineering process, requirements and analysis, monitoring/analyzing test results, collecting test metrics and conducting test reporting, to ensure deployment meet the expectations of our customer and are stable, predictable, and sustainable.
The ideal candidate is organized; detail oriented; has great communication skills; thrives in a fastpaced environment and can integrate performance testing into crossfunctional information technology projects. Tasks and Activities
Understanding of the application functionality and performance requirements along with SLA's defined. Identifying the test scenario's to validate the performance of key business functions of the release.
Identify the test environment, test data and access needs. Create profiling, test scripts, test plan, executing, trouble shooting and performance tuning. Create monitoring profile to acquire performance metrics to ensure optimization.
Analyze test results and call out any discrepancies against the SLA's. Publish performance analysis reports and conduct review sessions with all the stakeholders. Maintain flexible work schedules driven by test environment availability. Transaction Profiling & Application Characterization
Conduct, when necessary, and review results of transaction profiling
Design & Build Load Testing
Assist with Troubleshooting & System Tuning
Provide technical expertise to resolve critical and complex application performance issues.
Work with multiple projects and crossfunctional teams.
Educate teams on performance testing processes, methodology, performance & scalability.
Basic Skills Required
BS Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
57 years of experience in performance test planning, execution and analysis.
Advanced knowledge of LoadRunner, Sitescope & Performance Center Experience Experience with C/C++ language, VB scripting and SQL.
Knowledge of Quick Test Professional.
Familiar with OEM monitoring tools.
Familiar with Java 2 Enterprise Edition, Micro Edition, and Standard Edition
Familiar with web services, Simple Network Management Protocol, Java Massaging Service, Extensible Markup Language (XML), Simple Object Access
Familiar with Protocol (SOAP), and Unified Modeling Language (UML)
Strong analytical & problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A strong team player
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
Demonstrated technical and professional skills in jobrelated area required
Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required
Basic Skills Preferred
Advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
Experience in Performance Test Engineering from Planning to Reporting
Proven ability to adapt and implement industryleading software processes
