Job Description Seeking a Java Developer to support the development, implementation, and support of GSK Pharma external facing web sites and applications. The ideal candidate will be well versed in industry standards and emerging web technologies to support the development and maintenance of web sites and applications. The candidate should be flexible, open to new ideas, must be selfdirected, organized, and attentive to details.
Position Requirements BS in computer science or similar discipline, or significant work experience 5+ years experience working with Java, Servlets, JSP and J2EE frameworks
Self motivated, with excellent problem solving capabilities Excellent communication skills, including training, presenting, and technical documentation Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 5+ years Java development, version 1.5+ preferred
open source J2EE development frameworks, more specifically Spring/Spring MV, to develop web based applications
Straight Servlets/JSPs to develop web based applications
JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks (jQuery)
Hibernate as an ORM, as well as being able to use direct JDBC to interact with databases.
Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), specifically related to developing SOAP based web services (either using JAXWS or Apache CXF)
PL/SQL queries for use with Oracle databases.
Source code versioning tools, such as SVN or CVS
Maven for dependency management.
using templating engines such as Freemarker or Velocity
Knowledge of XML/XSL
Pluses Experience using NetBeans IDE
Experience with HTML/XTHML/CSS Experience with mobile web site development Experience with Content Management Systems such as Day Software or Alterian
Experience with Scrum and Agile development
