Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION The Senior Quality Assurance Analysts role is to ensure that APG IS RPG software development projects meet GPCs expected level of quality. This individual will analyze requirements and gather data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements to produce test plans and execute test cases ensuring that defects do not escape into Production. The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst will apply proven analytical and problemsolving skills to validate IT processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives. This individual will work closely with key departmental, management and product stakeholders across the organization. Therefore, the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of management and staff within the organization is important in this role. Qualifications Associate, BS or BA degree in a related field Any HP or Testing certification as follows QC or QTP ASQ QAI ISTQB IIST 7+ years working with HP Quality Center writing and executing test cases and managing defects (recent experience with HP ALM version 11) 7+ years writing test plans and analyzing technical documents to produce testing strategies 7+ years working with various testing methodologies such as Black Box, White Box and Gray Box 3 to 5 years recent testing experience on AS400/iSeries; should be familiar with CL and calling programs from the command line 3 to 5 years writing and executing SQL Queries on DB2/400 to retrieve database information for back end data verification Experience with testing techniques such as equivalence partitioning and boundary value analysis Experience with various SDLC methodologies Experience interacting on technical and nontechnical levels with Infrastructure, Network, Development, BA and other QA teams Expert knowledge of the following Microsoft Office products is required Word, Excel, and Outlook Previous experience testing JD Edwards World (Distribution and Logistics System) or other ERP systems is a plus Extremely strong attention to detail Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), including facilitation and team leadership skills
Must be comfortable working in ambiguous and/or stressful situations
Must be selfmotivated but know when to seek guidance Must be flexible and know when to change priorities quickly Must have the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Must have the ability and desire to learn new tools and technologies Must have the ability to work independently and as a team member. Responsibilities Ensure that testing activities validate that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill enduser requirements, and identify existing or potential issues Manage all aspects of testing for software development projects, problem fixes and enhancements throughout their development/product lifecycles Test all new software to ensure that integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications Review/analyze software requirements and technical or functional specification documents to develop test cases to validate that the code meets requirements Write and execute complex test cases that will validate the application performs according to functional specifications
Document detailed test results and effectively communicate to the team information about defects and issues found during testing Track and troubleshoot issues by communicating with developers and stakeholders while cycling through the development process Identify regression testing opportunities
Verify and revise quality assurance standards as needed, while adhering to industry best practices Analyze formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
