QA Automation Engineer

Description

Position Summary
Supports OEConnections Development and Technology departments and commercial online webbased products by providing test case automation administration and development functions. Writes automated scripts based using behavior driven development (BDD) tool (spec flow). Identifies components to automate verification and validation testing. Researches, evaluates and develops appropriate tools and test harnesses to verify and validate product components. Provides QA automation best practice engineering, tool administration, and development support.
Job Duties
1. Creates web performance and load test projects in performance test tool; identifies and communicates specific areas for improvement. Performs stress and performance testing.
2. Develops automated scripts based on features of specific applications. Records user interactions to create automated scripts. Creates/edits automation scripts using utilizing tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio.
3. Collaborates with QA analysts to identify functions and features that require test automation. Develops and implements best practices for test automation.
4. Analyzes test results for accuracy and compliance. Finds root cause of problems and recognizes recurring issues; resolves, or contributes to resolution process in conjunction with stafflevel positions.
5. Manages acceptance criteria utilizing tools such as TFS / Visual Studio / Spec Flow.Maintains documentation, user accounts and test data used by the team.
6. Records and maintains source control of automation scripts.
7. Coordinates efforts with software engineers to identify performance opportunities, as well as to ensure testability issues are addressed during design lifecycle.
8. Develops new and refines existing QA processes, tools, and testing infrastructure to enhance quality and productivity.
9. Creates automated testing harness for application utilizing tools such as Rest API.
10. Logs bugs / issues with appropriate detail Review bugs and set the appropriate severity level.
Education
An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline. Or in the absence of a degree, directlyrelated job experience in providing test case automation administration and optimizing utilization of testing tools, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement.
