The Senior Data Analyst shall support the Organizations efforts in the Guided Event Management System (GEMS) project. The GEMS program is a rearchitecture of the legacy employee benefits web portal to provide member employers and their employees with a rolesbased, user friendly, intuitive, integrated employee benefits web experience. The site offers immediate access to key information and a guided, taskoriented user experience with appropriate protection of personal and financial information. Included in the program is a robust data interface engine to distribute and share data across the multiple platforms to administer the employee benefits.
The Senior Data Analyst must have strong experience in enterprise data management, with emphasis in implementing data integration solutions and/or enterprise integration hubs. Experience with employee benefits preferred.
Candidate Duties and Responsibilities Senior Data Analyst shall provide ongoing, handson, fulltime technical data leadership, assistance and mentoring to successfully implement the GEMS program including but not limited to the following o Review available business and technical artifacts to develop an
understanding of the current and future state data architecture, data model and data interfaces/integrations.
o Conduct individual and/or small group information gathering
meetings with technical and business subject matter experts (SMEs) to gain insights into current understandings of the data and associated business process to validate understanding of the current and future state of managing member/participant data including challenges, opportunities and risks.
o Inspect data and data structures to continue to validate
understanding of the current state data landscape, with emphasis on member/participant information, including demographic, contact, dependents, beneficiary, and benefit plan participation.
o Participate in business requirement and system change session
including the data analysis of the new requirements and system changes, documentation data artifacts and validation of the changes and related business and technology impacts from a data perspective.
o Provide datarelated recommendations, impact assessments, and risk
assessments (including mitigation and contingency plans)
o Mentor the technical and business resources to understand the
important role of data management and analysis within a technology and business project.
o Work with the Data Management and Data Reconciliation teams to
document the data landscape and identify data quality problems through data profiling including but not limited to column level profiling, cross table and cross platform profiling to identify gaps in parent child relationship of data and/or data inconsistencies, and business rule profiling to find data that does not conform to established business rules.
o Validate the system changes from a data perspective.
o Support team to document manual data issue correction process to
comply with audit requirements for data lineage traceability, issue identification, trouble shooting and resolution.
The Senior Data Analyst must take ownership of projects/tasks/issues and work them through completion.
