Description
Role Server Infrastructure Support
Server Infrastructure Remediation Windows and Linux Servers
Migrating 400500 servers from one domain to another
o Moving from Dow.com to phibred.com domain
o 95% of servers are virtual (VMWare)
o 2/3 are production
o 50/50 Windows/Linux
Windows (versions 2012, 2008, 2016. Mostly 2012)
o Remove system from existing domain
o ReIP
o Join new domain
o Install new required software (remove Symantec, install McAfee)
o Do various checks to make sure it works
Smoke test (ping, login)
Linux (mostly CentOS 6 & 7 with some RedHat)
o Same thing as Windows, with a couple extra steps
o Cut over from NIS domain to AD for Unix.
Install Quest or other AD integration tool
Join AD domain on Linux
Install standard software
Smoke test (ping, login, shares, etc.)
Will have SOPs on all of this developed by client
o This role will be following an SOP for this
Role will be doing basic cutover, escalating to Mark.
o Corteva will be doing the Tier 2 troubleshooting, etc.
May have several waves of smoke tests
