Description
Applicants are expected to have a broad background in Microsoft Server administration including Active Directory, along with technical knowledge related to server hardware and software, enterprise computing, and general networking competencies.
Must have strong team skills and a customersupport background handling complex hardware and software systems. Responsible for providing administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for Microsoft Windows Server environments.
Functions Candidate will work as a member of a team providing triage for Microsoft Windows Servers issues.
Conducts basic troubleshooting using preexisting knowledge base, documentation, and assigning priorities to incidents.
Performs break/fix actions when applicable for hardware and software following documented procedures, and adhering to change control guidelines and polices.
Incident resolution may involve working with internal specialists and external suppliers (e.g., field support, carriers, and equipment vendors).
General knowledge of an enterprise monitoring/alerting tools.
Create, modify and close service requests, incidents and problem tickets using ServiceNow.
Essential Knowledge Applicants must have technical knowledge related to the following Windows Server Operating Systems.
Active Directory administration.
Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
Microsoft Clustering.
Windows Server Security standards and configuration management.
Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.) to create and modify documentation.
Effective problem solving.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including, but not limited to, procedures and technical documentation.
Other Desired Skills 13 years in an operations center environment
Experience with virtualization VMware ESX, and Microsoft HyperV.
Understanding of routers; firewalls; switches; hubs; bridges; NICs; WAPs; SAN; modems; firewalls; terminal and print servers.
Experience in NAS/SAN technologies such as EMC, NetApp, and Dell.
Antivirus Norton SEP, MS SCEP, and McAfee.
Backup Software IBM Tivoli TSM.
Experience implementing RBAC in a Windows environment.
Security+ CE certification.
Experience automating system management and monitoring using SCCM.
Experience supporting enterprise disaster recovery solutions.
Experience automating system administration tasks using VBScript and PowerShell.
Experience with AIX, Solaris, and Red Hat Linux.
