2) SQL Experience 3) Experience with multiple RDBMS Job Description This contract is to work on the onboarding data applications related to Shared Health Virginia, including data transformations, vendor extracts, database loads, and ETL development. The resource will be working day to day with SQL development, ETL development, Data Analysis, and Production Support.
Qualifications ( Candidates must meet the following requirements. These are BCBST standard job requirements and the candidate cannot be hired without them.)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field experience. 57 years experience in Data Stage. Shell scripting required. Knowledge of information technology concepts, application development methodology terminology and standards. Proven analysis, design, and coding skills, and demonstrated success in leading medium to complex technology based efforts. Responsibilities Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and factfinding to design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems Devises or modifies application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements including capacity, operating time, response time, and form of desired results. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, subroutines, and scripts.
Competent to work at the highest phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities Enhances the design of current systems to improve system capabilities to meet the changing needs of the business.
Works with business users or business systems analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications Develops and implements program/system test plans. Devises data verification methods and standard system procedures. Maintains technical skill set for software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities and networks needed to support work assignments. Assists in preparing and maintaining application design document. Responds to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems. May conduct presentations to provide end users with knowledge to maximize their use of developed systems. Provides technical leadership on assigned projects or discovery efforts. May coordinate work assignments and verify results of applications systems analysis and programming personnel. Regularly provides guidance and training to lessexperienced analysts/programmers. Additional Information Work Environment BCBST is a business casual environment. They have cubicles, but the teams sit together and collaborate when necessary. This person will be sitting with the rest of the team which includes contractors and FTES. Interview Information The external customer is the state of Virginia. BCBST has an initiative called Shared Health in which they are selling their services around Bluecare and Medicaid to states around the nation. Impact to the Internal/External Customer These resources will be affecting how the customer's data is pulled and processed by BCBST. Business Challenge BCBST has an initiative called Shared Health in which they are selling their services around Bluecare and Medicaid to states around the nation. Once they win a state, they then have to support that state's Bluecare and Medicaid data, which will provide a stream of revenue to BCBST. EVP BCBST has a state of the art facility with an onsite gym, pharmacy, cafeteria, and free parking garage. They also have a free shuttle that runs throughout the downtown area.
