Mainframe Network Engineer

Description

Implementation, configuration and support of VTAM.
Implementation, configuration and support of mainframe TCP/IP .
Implementation, configuration and support of Connect Direct (NDM)
Implementation, configuration and support of NetView or equivalent
Additional Details This Mainframe Systems Engineer position will support operational activity for the z/OS mainframe platform and infrastructure applications/services with a specialization in Mainframe/Network Communications to include VTAM, TCP/IP, FTP & CONNECT DIRECT. Seeking a Mainframe Network Systems Programmer (AKA Mainframe SYSPROG) that has recent experience supporting mainframe communication products and services, to include VTAM, TCP/IP, FTP, CONNECT DIRECT and Netview. This is not an application programmer nor a developer position. This is an onsite position only at our Corporate Datacenter in Raleigh NC. Additional Requirements Implementation, configuration and support of VTAM.
Implementation, configuration and support of mainframe TCP/IP .
Implementation, configuration and support of Connect Direct (NDM)
Implementation, configuration and support of NetView
Understanding and support of enterprise system communications and file transfer protocols
Understanding and support of enterprise encryption applications and processes.
Implementation, configuration and support of communications infrastructure products.
Process driven management of technical operations and support.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
The ability to follow a project through to completion, and/or to work as part of a larger team to complete the components of a complex project.
Other Preferred Qualifications Banking or financial services industry experience.
Bachelor degree or higher in computer science.
Knowledge of mainframe WebSphere MQ, z/OS, DB2, & core mainframe components.
Mainframe hardware configuration using HCD to include OSA Card Configuration.
Knowledge of Assembler and COBOL.

Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree with a minimum of 6 years work experience as a mainframe systems engineer in an enterprise data center environment with at least 2 years working experience supporting mainframe communications and associated products.
OR
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years work experience as a mainframe systems engineer in an enterprise data center environment with at least 2 years working experience supporting mainframe communications and associated products.
