The Business Analyst (BA) is the key connection between the business (need) and the technology (solution). This role understands requirements in the context of business problems, opportunities and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. The BA will help transform the business by identifying business objectives, evaluating existing processes and proposing future state designs. The Business Analyst (BA) position is responsible for a wide range of responsibilities working under the direction of the IT PMO. The BA will take on responsibility for complex tasks related to requirements design, client engagement, quality control, and data analysis for numerous IT projects.
Evaluating, researching and analyzing business processes, anticipating requirements, and uncovering gaps and areas for improvement
Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and documenting the results of your efforts
Reviewing and understanding business processes and business requirements of the customers and translating them to specific business and technical requirements
Capturing moderately complex requirements for solutions by working closely with the business and appropriate IT team members
Managing requirements by documenting, analyzing, tracing and prioritizing; as well as controlling change
Developing functional design documents breaking down business requirements into functional requirements
Creation of technical documentation as required for process changes and application modifications
Conducting meetings and presentations to communicate key insights and findings
Developing and document acceptance criteria / test plans for both solution and UAT test plans
Responsible for executing both solution test plans and UAT test plans with stakeholders and end users
Interface with vendors to conduct discovery sessions, define and document requirements for a named set of new and existing custom developed or vendor software products
Creation of documentation including detailed requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, internal and customerfacing procedure guides, and process flow diagrams, wireframes and UI mock ups
Stay uptodate on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems
Adhering to Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC) and/or Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) standards and governance
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Bachelor degree in business or related field
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering
5+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst in the I.T. field
CBAP or IIBA certification desired
KEY EXPERIENCE
Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
Experience developing and publishing technical in nature documentation
A proven record of professionalism coupled with flexibility
Preferably, experience in data warehouses such as Oracle 11g, MS SQL Server and Microsoft BI platform
Project management experience a plus
