DEPARTMENT Information Systems
JOB SUMMARY
Analyze user computing requirements to implement hardware and software solutions and provide ongoing lifecycle maintenance. Design, create, document and implement automation solutions using enterprise class automation systems (e.g. SCCM, AV, VSphere, Citrix) to meet user requirements, security standards and best practices. Diagnose and independently resolve onsite or remote user computing systems incidents and underlying problems including high complexity, multilocation impacting incident management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Design, create, document, and implement highly virtualized global environments through the use of VmWare, VSphere and Citrix environments, as well as associated replication technologies
Consult with users to identify and analyze automation requirements. Design and implement automation solutions
Configure and implement global active directory services and related components to support identity management, system access, customer data access and reporting
Research, diagnose and independently resolve onsite and remote user impacting incidents and underlying problems including high complexity and multilocation impacting incident management
Complete incident trend analysis and manage resulting problems through resolution Frequent interaction and partnering with the other technology verticals regarding incident/problem resolution, project planning and documentation to ensure efficient operation of the global end user computing environment
Analyze and fulfill onsite and report user computing environment move, add, and change requests
Author technical documents and knowledge including system functionality, technical workflow, procedures, user guides for both end users and IT teams that comply with all regulatory requirements Proactive daily support and configuration of server/application backup and restore where required
Prepare tests and applications for monitoring end user computing environment performance. Provide statistics, reports, analysis, recommendations and implementation of changes to maintain peak efficiency
Contribute to longterm strategy and capacity analysis planning for meeting future end user computing hardware, software and related equipment needs for management review and approval
Conduct research on end user computing IT infrastructure and software. Evaluate, test and recommend products for purchase
Maintain and build professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and training events, by subscribing to and reading trade periodicals and by reading applicable technical manuals, books and guides
Participate in the out of hours support call rotation
Performs other related duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Advanced knowledge of end user computing environments a must
Excellent technical knowledge of PC desktop hardware and software including MS Windows XP, Windows 7, MS Office suites and related products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point, Project, etc), web browsers, and utility applications such as antivirus, file management, desktop deployment, backup software and mobile devices
Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards
Strong systems analysis abilities including working directly with users
High quality incident and problem diagnosis and resolution skills
Strong customer service skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT
General office environment
SittIng for extended periods of time
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
Some afterhours work required
EXPERIENCE
25 years of relevant work experience in an IT/IS support role.
EDUCATION College diploma or university degree in the field of computer information systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Certifications in A+, Network+, MCDST, MS preferred.
