SAS Developer

Description

Deliverables Lead development efforts for the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Analytical environments.
Assist with administration including but not limited to, code optimization and promotion, users, performance, backup and recovery, security and upgrades to new releases if necessary.
Work within the Analytics development team to provide technical leadership to team members.
Work with the BI team to provide Analytics expertise and provision data to the team for BI and reporting purposes.
Work with data modelers to create and maintain consistency and accuracy of all logical and physical data models inclusive of associated metadata.
Proactively support the environments, particularly around issues and improvements.
Shares responsibility for all aspects of the Analytics systems and tools, including, but not limited to, code design, creation, tuning, validation, and troubleshooting.
Work with EDM team and business partners to develop code for new data sets and analysis, maintain and enhance existing code base.
Work with EDM management to abide by QVC Data Governance standards and guidelines.
Set up complex workflows and schedules.
Follow SDLC methodology in regards to code development and deployment.
Keep current in terms of technology and best practices.
Participate in quality assurance reviews of ETL components.
Navigate on the host server for file management, file cleanup and configuration tasks.
Write scripts and code as needed.
Provide regular updates to EDM manager and assist with project planning, design and execution of Enterprise Data Management strategic roadmap.
Minimum Requirements Highly technical and strong SAS code performance and tuning skills
5+ years SAS programming experience
5+ years strong experience with SAS code creation and tuning
3+ years advanced handson experience with Shell scripting
2+ years of experience with BI analytical tool (e.g. Tableau, SAS EG) experience preferred
Good understanding of database design & enterprise warehouse data modeling
Experience with BI or Data Warehouse projects
Experience with Linux, UNIX and Windows
Proficient with MS Office suite
Must possess excellent communication skills
Must possess ability to work independently and in a team environment
Must possess excellent investigative and problem solving abilities
Preferred requirements Retail Industry, Teradata experience, Hadoop, Spark, DB2, SQL Server and Oracle
ETL experience using Informatica
Knowledge of Cybermation or a scheduling software is a plus
Knowledge of R is a nice to have
