Description
Responsibilities
Establish targets and measures that adequately reflect ministry and project objectives. Develop, implement, and report on objectives, measures, and outcomes.
Assist in the implementation of data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance; resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication and other distributed data issues.
Consult with systems analysts, programmers, and end users to gather information about database intent, functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and operating system environment, and interfaces with other systems.
Design/write database specifications based on consultations with supervisor, systems analysts, programmers, and end users.
Apply database programming standards and techniques to assure efficient database operation and data integrity and security.
Provide DBA services to programming teams, writing queries, developing stored procedures, creating data reports. Works closely with Data Science team to provide these services.
Manage DB settings, configurations, replication needs across multiple DB platforms
Assist in the development of software databases to include designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting software. Maintain strong working relationships with team members.
Create test transactions and run tests to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.
Analyze database code to find causes of errors and revise programs.
Proactively communicate and work with other staff to resolve technical problems.
Maintain professional competency, knowledge and skills necessary to effectively perform job duties by taking responsibility for professional development and training.
Support and contribute to a safe and healthy work environment.
Qualifications Minimum 3 years experience in SQL Server database management.
Expertise with relational database design, capacity planning, security, and other distributed data issues. Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in a Windows clustered environment. MCDBA preferred. Experience across at least two or more of the following DB environments Microsoft .NET framework knowledge, SSIS, and Reporting Services a plus.
Demonstrated troubleshooting and analysis skills and experience. Must have proven problemsolving experience in high impact environment
Understanding of back up, disaster recovery services and the importance to an organization. Able to hold to high standards and quality.
Desire to continuously improve on services through automation, improved efficiency.
Proven ability to deal with multiple, simultaneous problems in a systematic, logical manner.
