Job Description
Brief Description The Software Verification & Validation Test Engineer (SVV Test Engineer) functions independently to carry out various methods of testing including manual, batch and automated, to test application/infrastructure changes and correlate them to the business solution; or to support test environments. Tests software to ensure proper operation and free from defects. Use current process and tools in the creation of test plans and test cases. The SVV Test Engineer documents and works to resolve problems. The SVV Test Engineer reports progress on problem resolution to management. The Senior SVV Test Engineer understands of software verification and validation methodology and how it fits into the Software Delivery Lifecycle
Requirements A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
57 years of progressive experience in verifying, validating and testing medium to large scale software applications. 13 years of IT experience in the Pharmaceutical or CRO setting is essential.
Experience should also include substantial exposure to inhouse and shared or outsourced systems, multiple hardware platforms, and integrated information and communications systems.
In depth knowledge and handson experience with all phases of an SDLC.
Expanded ability and knowledge to use of tools and technology. Good understanding of the technical details of the application/infrastructure they use/support and the correlation of the application/infrastructure to the business solution. Basic ability to design, create and/or execute automated scripts using Selenium, C# and NUnit.
Ability to write, debug and understand object oriented code in C#.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot existing code.
Ability to follow frameworks configured for automated testing scenarios.
Ability to refactor code for reuse
Excellent application documentation skills.
Working knowledge with team development software and automated testing tools.
Handson experience with Windows 200x Server and Windows XP operating systems.
Working knowledge with Portal environments and tools including Microsoft Sharepoint Team Services and Sharepoint Portal.
